October 9, 2023 - Ashleigh and Jesse Bair, the children of Ryan and Laura Bair, have completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at Upper Sandusky Community Library.
Summer isn't over and neither is our All Together Now Summer Reading Program! It runs through July 31.
Summer reading begins June 1 and participants can sign up now at the library. Pick up a summer reading packet for your age group at the front desk and get to reading! When you complete your packet, bring it back to the library for an entry into one of the prize drawings.
ADULTS
March is Makers’ Month and the Upper Sandusky Community Library is hosting a gallery of work by local artists. Come to the library March 1-25 to view a variety of art, from creations by individuals at Angeline School and Industry to photography, paintings, and wood burning by your friends and neighbors. The artwork will be displayed throughout the library and can be viewed during library hours.
Included below are PDFs of the Upper Sandusky Community Library Board of Trustee minutes during the 2022 calendar year. The Board of Trustees meets on the second Tuesday of each month at noon in the library's board meeting room in the basement. The meetings are open to the public.
February 2022 - No meeting
The Upper Sandusky Community Library will be closing early at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 16 for staff training. The library will return to regular hours on Friday, February 17.
The Upper Sandusky Community Library is looking for local artists interested in displaying their artwork in March for Makers’ Month.
All types of artwork will be accepted for Makers’ Month, from paintings and pottery to textiles, paper crafting, and more. The library reserves the right to choose what will be displayed. Artwork of an explicit nature will not be accepted. When submitting your artwork for display, please include necessary contact information.
January 20, 2023 – Lillian Hartschuh, daughter of Jacob and Dawn Hartschuh, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library.
Lillian started the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten on January 2, 2019, and reached the goal on December 29, 2022. Lillian and her younger brother, Micah, come to the library quite often to check out a big pile of books and to attend StoryTime.
January is the perfect time to catch up on your reading and the Upper Sandusky Community Library wants to support you in your reading goals!
Sign up for the Cabin Fever Reliever Winter Reading Program beginning January 3 and work your way towards prizes to relieve the winter boredom. Each time you check out books, you will receive a scratch-off ticket for a chance at a prize. That ticket also will serve as an entry for the Night on the Town Grand Prize drawing. The grand prize will be drawn on February 6 and the winner will be notified by phone.
Another area child has joined the ranks of fellow readers who have read 1,000 books before kindergarten.
Andrew Schneider, son of Shawn and Andrea Schneider, completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. He started the program on May 8, 2021, and completed it on August 23, 2022. The whole family – his parents, Shawn and Andrea, and siblings Lydia and Ben – helped Andrew complete the program. By the end, Andrew read the 1,000th book all by himself.
