Volunteer Policy

Adopted by the Board of Trustees, November 16, 2017

Adults who would like to volunteer to help with programs or activities at the library must complete a volunteer application. If volunteer opportunities exist, the Director, or his or her designee, will review the application and interview appropriate candidates. Upon being selected, candidates must undergo a background check with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The library will reimburse the volunteer for any costs incurred for the background check upon verification of a clear record. The Director, or his or her designee, will then select, assign tasks, establish a schedule, and train and supervise volunteers as needed to support library staff.

Youth who would like to volunteer to help with library programs and activities should register for the youth group. Opportunities to earn community service credit may be available for youth.
