Celebrate the holidays with USCL

We're celebrating the entire holiday season and it kicks off this month! Well . . . sort of.

As a reminder, we will close early at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 and will be closed on Thursday, Nov. 27 for Thanksgiving.

Immediately after that, however, is when the good stuff gets going.

It all starts in the sweetest way possible with Miss Jill’s Gingerbread House Workshop! Participants will receive a cardboard house frame and frosting to help construct their gingerbread house. Make sure to bring graham crackers and candy to decorate your house. Space is limited and registration is required. All ages are welcome, though children must be accompanied by an adult. The workshops will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 and Tuesday, Dec. 2. Registration begins on Monday, Nov. 17. Sign up online, stop by the front desk, or call 419-294-1345 to register.

Brighten up your Christmas décor with an evergreen Christmas swag. Learn how to design your own with the help of Sarah Brodman of Schuster’s Flowers. All supplies will be provided, but you can bring your own decorations if you want. Registration for this program begins Monday, Nov. 17. The program will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4.

We'll close out the week with the program that all kids look forward to: the Secret Santa Shop! The Friends of the Library will once again be hosting the Secret Santa Shop from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6. Children, ages 12 and under, are encouraged to fill out a shopper’s sheet with information regarding who they are shopping for and their spending limit. These sheets can be filled out ahead of time and are available in the children's department a week before the event. Items are priced between $1 and $5. When the shoppers arrive, an elf will help them shop for the perfect gifts for friends and family. It's sure to be a magical morning that your child will enjoy!
