Owen Duress, son of Joel and Hannah, has completed the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at the Upper Sandusky Community Library. 

Owen, who is four years old, started the program on January 19, 2021, and completed it on April 16, 2024. His favorite colors are purple and green, and his favorite foods are pancakes and sausage. Owen enjoys running and sliding while playing outside. He also loves playing with slime. 

Any child from birth until they enter kindergarten can participate in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. Each child will receive a log to record the books with incentives being given along the way. As you read to your children, they will form a link between books and what they love most – your voice and your closeness.
